Aerobic Fitness - it All Starts From the Heart

Friday, April 10th, 2009
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle requires discipline, commitment and dedication. When you live an active life and exercise regularly, it is hard for you to gain weight. It is important to keep your body weight at acceptable levels because an over weight body can cause severe health problems.

For example, some people suffer from strokes because certain arteries in their bodies are blocked by excess cholesterol. The body won’t be able to function normally when it is burdened by excess fats. In addition, people who are overweight also find themselves having low esteem, and living a lower quality of life.

Excess weight also seep into other areas of an individual’s life. Besides health implications, someone who is overweight is also likely to face discrimination at work, and has a less active social life.

Fortunately, a whole life can be turned around just by adopting a more active lifestyle - exercise regularly!

For many overweight people, getting started is perhaps the hardest part. But Rome is not built in one day. Everything has to start from somewhere. And when it comes to exercise, the best place to start is to let the heart workout.

The heart is the muscle that pumps blood and oxygen throughout our body. Everything starts from the heart. If the heart stops working, the body stops working as well. No blood and oxygen means no energy. The way to let the heart get its exercise is to engage in aerobic activities.

Aerobic activities include movements of the body, arms and legs. The idea is to keep the body moving so that the heart has to work to get blood and oxygen flowing through the body. The higher the intensity of the workout, the harder the heart has to work. This sounds like hard work but a strong and healthy heart has many benefits.

First of all, a strong and healthy heart allows the individual to build up other parts of the body. In a way, the heart is like the engine in a car. There is little point having a big car that looks powerful on the outside, but has a small and weak engine on the inside. The car just won’t perform!

With a strong heart, an individual can eventually move on to other challenging exercises such as cycling, weight lifting and so on.

Now you understand why aerobic fitness is so important. Anyone can start exercising by performing simple yet effective aerobic exercises. There is little strain on other parts of the body, and the heart is allowed to grow and strengthen at a comfortable pace.

Even if an individual decides not to progress further with other form of exercises, aerobic exercise alone is enough to bring back the glow in the cheeks. Weight can be effectively managed and the overall quality of life will improve.

Health & Fitness – Through - Prana Energy

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Our body is actually composed of two parts: the visible physical body and the invisible energy body called the bioplasmic body or astral body. Many of the alternative healing systems, like Reiki, Pranik healing, acupuncture. Aroma therapy, yoga, Crystal therapy, sujok, to name a few is based on maintaining and balancing different vital energies in the bioplasmic energy body. This vital energy is very important for life to exist. PRANA is the sum total of all energy that is manifested in the universe. As oxygen is vital for keeping our physical body alive, this vital energy PRANA is as vital for the bioplasmic body to work, as electricity in needed in functioning of electronic circuit. If you are not healthy, exhausted or weak, it is because that your vital energy in the astral body is low or not in balance. Energy, what ever may the form like electricity, magnetism, nuclear, have polarity, so the PRANA also has polarity which can be called as yin and yang in Chinese, and Ida and Pingala in Indian yoga systems. This astral body consists of many meridians, channels, chakras or energy centers which circulate and distribute the vital force in the astral body through different meridians or nadis. PRANA is absorbed through the air we breathe, food, water, sun shine and also by the different chakras present in the astral body from the ambient.

There is plenty of literature and information available about the astral/bioplasmic body in many of oriental alternative healing systems after all these different healing systems are well established and practiced since ages by many civilizations. You simply cannot rule out that these alternative healing systems are base less as no physical evidence available to confirm. Much of the fundamental concepts in these systems is metaphysical and cannot be verified on physical grounds and one should study these systems and concepts to understand. All the philosophies of religions, psychology and the concept of mind, themselves are metaphysical in nature.

Our whole body is totally bio-electrical in nature. Every cell has electrical potential difference in them to carry out the different functions needed to obtain nutrients. Whole of brain and nervous system are functioning on bio-electrical impulses in parallel with the meridians, carrying the vital force, PRANA in the form of yin and yang. Some years ago, Dr., A.E. Baines stated in a paper entitled “The origin and problem of life” that there are three things that militate against continuance of vigorous life for prolonged periods. One is physical deterioration; another is gradual failure of generation of nerve force; and the third is falling in the production of certain glands that vitalize body and brain. All the glands secreting the vital hormones are just located on the map of energy chakras of the astral body and all of we know that how important are the functioning of these glands in prolonging healthy and vigorous life. Much of your old age problems and debility are the result of the malfunctioning and unhealthy conditions of the vital glands. Many rejuanation therapies are based on replenishing the hormone levels in our body to optimum levels. The practice of yoga is the foremost and very effective method in activating and rejuanating these glands to optimum levels and canalizing and unblocking the flow of PRANA to these glands and there by you can enjoy life in all levels for many years.

All the flora and fauna present in the nature are loads of the vital energy, PRANA and in exploring the full potential of utilizing this vital energy you should lead certain life style and practices

1) Try to live as near to the natural surroundings with plenty of open space with clean air.

2) Near water falls as water falls are great generators of PRANA, when water runs on rocks of crystal matrix as generally found in volcanic rock formations and the concentrations of negative ions in the ambient air are potential carriers of PRANA.

3) Under some big and flowering trees, as many of big grown up trees like oak, banyan, neem, peepal release vital energies around them.

4) Practice of pranayam for few minutes,  as described in Patanjali yoga systems is a wonderful technique in absorbing fresh PRANA from the air and cleansing the chakras and unblocking the  meridians.

5) Go for vegetarian diets, containing fresh vegetables and ripe fruits, as they contain greater amounts of the life giving vital energies, natural vitamins, minerals and variety of essential ingredients which are easily absorbed and assimilated in the body and also to get rid of harmful toxins from the body. Non-vegetarian food derived from animals & other live- stocks contain volatile deceased PRANA and violent psychic impressions embedded in them due to the extreme pain and torture endured during killing and also the intake of non- vegetarian food increases the production of uric acid in the blood, which is a toxin.

6) Avoid stale, processed and junk food as they contain no or very less PRANA and much of their nutritional value are destroyed during the process and their toxic levels are high due to the addition of harmful chemicals for preservation, coloring and taste enhancing. All the above facts and the energy levels could be seen through Kirlien photography and allied techniques.

7) Keep away from anger, sorrow, depression and revenge as they consume lot of PRANA and there by weakening your astral body. Not only your physical body is affected but also much harmful deceased energies enter your astral body from the ambient atmosphere.

8) Avoid visiting hospitals, cemeteries, abattoirs and places where torture is a thing as they are full of negative and deceased energies. If your astral body is weak and lacking PRANA, then there is a chance for the deceased energies entering your astral body and you end up with ailment.

9) Occasionally visit some holy places like historical religious places, natural springs, shrines, caves in mountain ranges and botanical gardens as they are full of PRANA in the surrounding air and always remain in cheerful and compassionate mental state when you are visiting these places. By doing so your astral body absorbs much of PRANA as your astral body vibrates in harmony and in resonance with the ambient energy potential.

10) Occasionally take a swim in clean sea waters, natural springs or in running streams as they are great cleansers of astral body.

11) Once in a year or at least once in two years, try to get rid of the body’s toxins and waste products by naturopathy to ensure its good health. And when it starts to flush out these unwanted materials, the body is said to be in the process of purifying itself. While doing it, the body may begin to experience changes and even diseases.

The purpose of naturopathy is to initiate the body’s ability to heal itself. Our bodies have antibodies that work naturally and spontaneously whenever it detects something wrong inside. But if the disease outnumbers these antibodies, the body’s balance is disrupted. With the use of naturopathy and naturopaths, then a remedy to the sickness is served and the antibodies are reinforced. The body then will attempt to start the healing process again.
